CULTURE OF LIFE?

The power elite claims to live by a code of respect for life, all life.  Yet, to them abortion, end of life, and stem cell research are the only life issues that demand high profile attention.  There is more to life and death than these three issues.

Crime, capital punishment, foreign wars, drug wars, inadequate healthcare, AIDS, suicide, hopelessness, homelessness, dirty air and water, intolerance, racism, and economic uncertainty impact the lives and quality of life of real Americans. 

What happened to the war on poverty?  What happened to America's commitment to human rights at home and abroad?  Does abortion trump all other issues?

The Widow 

Feeling worn out and shattered,
The widow views his grave.
Her husband died in battle. 

In a distant land they found him
Battered, beaten and dead. 

He fought for politicians
Who never fight their own wars. 

To his country ... his life he gave.
Now his widow has his pension,
Memories and a grave.
