"Religion has no place in public policy!" Barry Goldwater
It is fascinating to watch how the religious right and the out-maneuvered left have framed the debate around Bush's latest move to provide legal cover for himself and his cronies. The Harriet Miers nomination is a signal that credentials and expertise do not matter to W. What matters to Bush is blind obedience and like minded adherence to a narrow interpretation of Christianity exemplified by this woman.
That George W. Bush had the nerve to point to Ms. Miers church membership and evangelical resume, in an attempt to calm the fears of his base, signals that we may be in danger of becoming a religious fundamentalist theocracy.
One of the fathers of modern conservatism envisioned this time and warned strongly against it. Barry Goldwater stated, "Religious factions will go on imposing their will on others unless the decent people connected to them recognize that religion has no place in public policy." Mr. Goldwater is probably turning over in his grave as I write this installment.

Hi Reb84, I appreciated your comment to my blog http://abluevoice.blogspot.com
I would like to link on your site and also have you on mine but I don't have clue how to do this. If you know how and want to, you have my OK. I'm in agreement and appreciate your blog. We have to continue to verbally attack these one party government, Republicans and their abuse of power. best.

great blog, great thoughts, great questions. It is about time that someone is questioning this government. For far too long this man has been able to shove his lies and sell his ideas to us through propaganda. The only way to stop it is to get enough people to speak up. Thanks for the voice.

Hello Reb 84. Thanks for visiting my blog also. I greatly appreciate your efforts to reveal the truth about this present mis-administration and their PNAC agenda.
I think you would do well to link to Representative Conyer's Blog if he has no objections.
Also we must fix the voting system so we know votes will be counted correctly from now on.
Best wishes,
WildBill
