Veteran's Day is About Veterans
All Americans owe a great debt to the sacrifice our veterans have given. Let us never forget that every life lost in war has tragic long-term affects on too many American families.
How dare a draft dodging administration politicize a day set aside to recognize American veterans! Was I the only one who noticed the uncomfortable looks on the faces of the people in uniform behind George W. Bush as he lashed out at democrats for engaging in "revisionist history?"
News flash from this American to the President:
First, Veterans Day is not about you. Let our veterans have there day.
Second, the history of this war is still being uncovered. Let Patrick Fitzgerald and the newly inspired investigative reporters do their jobs. This war will be analyzed by historians for generations to come, as it should be.
Third, your neo-con buddies have absolutely no right to claim to support the troops when they cut veteran benefits and don't provide adequate medical benefits for reservists.
Fourth, armed services radio should not be the exclusive domain of radical right talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh. Let Ed Shultz and other progressive radio hosts be heard by our troops. These AMERICAN men and women in uniform are entitled to hear more than one side of an argument.
Finally, they deserve to hear the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

Reb, What would you rather Bush do, not honor the vets? Its what all presidents do, they are part of the military and the commander in cheif should take time to honor their service on vetrerans day, don't you think?
On your other point about the Dem's engaging in revisionist history, its TRUE! every democratic senator, representitive,
sec. of state, President, all said they knew absolutely that Saddam had WMD's when Clinton bombed in the mid east, They all agreed tat he had to be stopped. So unless you want to forget how we got here and act like everyone on the left side is as pure as the driven snow, come up with a alternative plan to the foreign policies that we are engaged in.
The problem with the whole mid east problem is the UN. and the fasct that we are part of that corrupt institution, put us in this predicament 15 years ago, when we chased Saddam out iof Kuwait and the UN resolutions said that we could not go to
baghdad to finish the job, we could only remove him from Kuwait.Everyone on the left at that time critcized Bush 1 for NOT taking out Saddam. Then the UN did nothing to enforce the resolutions of surrenderfor 10 years, all the time President Clinton telling us that he must be stopped from his plans of WMD's. Democrats agreed in unison. Was clinton and the Democrats bombing innocent Iraqis? How shameful. But when Bush wants to stop him, all the Dems engage in revisionist history and Sunday morning quarterbacking, and they all point to the United effing Nations as the standard bearer of how the US should act. Give me a break. The UN is the body that said Saddam had WMD's and they needed WEAPON inspectors, Remember?Dems can't have their cake and eat it too when it comes to the UN They are a body of criminals out to do one thing and that is to try to make the US weaker in the global economies and Gov'ts they despise our ways and our prosperity and want to suckle on our nipples instead of extending freedoms to their own people, they don't want freedom for their people they want to rule them, and us too if we let them.

whaler,
Ghengis Khan responded to your post last night on www.ConyersBolg.us
"The UN is the body that said that Saddam had failed to account fully for his stockpiles of WMDs and therefore required the inspections to be completed until the pre Gulf War stockpiles were fully accounted for.
Also be aware that Clinton and the rest of the Democrats which you have referrentially misquoted were talking only about this insufficient accounting, in favor of continuing UN sanctions. The bombing you mention was against facilities to which the UNSCOM inspectors were denied access. I might add that the rhetoric was also applied to the policy of regime change which was implemented by Bush41 (although he completely failed in his own policy and got tens of thousands of Iraqis killed through his non-support of his suggested uprising, thus leading to the creation of the "No-Fly Zones" in the North and South of Iraq).
I also invite you to do some real research into the OFF scandal and find out which American oil firms (and heavy Republican political contributors) were the most highly benefitted parties of the whole deal."
