Tony Trupiano for Congress

Our Constitution is in crisis. The professional politicians are scrambling to get ready for the 2006 elections. They are running to their PACs and BIG MONEY!

We need to fight big money with lots of little money and lots of bloggers. Who is running in your district? Who will you support?

"I will be a representative who works for solutions to the problems of Michigan’s 11th district. I don’t want to be one of those politicians who just complains and smears the other guy.

There is too much money in politics, but unfortunately you need lots of money to run a campaign in 2006. I am a democrat who believes in smaller government and a government that plans for the future. Please join me. I need the support of people who are concerned about the direction Michigan and America are headed."

- Tony Trupiano

Our constitution is in crisis. Scandals run rampant and touch all levels. Thadeous McCotter confirmed how deep the corruption runs in his own party when he recently called for ethics investigations at all levels.

At the same time, our world is undergoing a major transformation. The global economy is becoming increasingly competitive. We need to focus on encouraging the growth of new break-through 21st century industries that will create future jobs. If America fails to adapt - to evolve - we will be left behind by nations like China and India.

It is time for a change. Donate to and VOTE for representatives who support We the People.

“One country, one constitution, one destiny.”
- Daniel Webster

  • Agreed, real representative should be supported, and all others should be exposed and boycotted.

  • Reb,
I just read the www.citizensforlivoniasfuture.com blog.
I feel for you friend...I posted the following:
I had a mentor once tell me...
"if you need ideas bad...you usually get bad ideas"

What desk jockey dreamed up this lame brained idea?!?!?

That is proof that we need "real people" to run and get elected. I'm so tired of careerists making decisions about stuff they have no business even being involoved with. Over here we have 40 years of the Dems running the show and we get the same kind of stupid legislation that it sound like you guys have. They just re-assessed my house because they claim that they have no money. The funny thing is thay just ran all of the businesses and developers out by putting a moritorium on building on areas where people actually want to live. Rather than work with these companies who are willing to pay thier fair share they ran them out of town on a rail
because they knuckled under to the NIMBY special interest groups who live in the high rent districts...so now I get to pay!

  • Cal,

This is why I pointed to Professional Politicians in this post. No matter what the talking heads say, corruption is not a republican/democrat thing. It is all about power and influence peddling. This is why "we the people" need to bring in new representatives with new ideas and fight to bring some real oversight into American politics. This is what we are trying to do in Livonia, and this is the attitude Tony Trupiano wants to bring to Washington D.C.

  • Reb,
Long time no talk, glad to see you back up and running.
How does Tony expect to acheive a smaller Gov't by being in one of the 2 major parties that will just neuter him to the point of ineffectiveness. What Dem is going to support smaller govt with him when that means we might have to do with less? And if he sides with a Rep. than he will be shunned by his own party. I agree that the mainstream is sooooo hungry for honest politicians that we really want to send them to Washington with good intentions. But once they get there you see them going down the party line. What have we gained? Even Tony admits that the money needed to run is exorbinant and what do these people want for their money? Will Tony look more closely at a donors concern rather than a mere constiuent? This is the problem as I see it. Once you get there its payback time. Look at the article in the Detroit paper the other day with no bid contracts going to big donors of the Detroit mayor. Do they really think that we are that stupid to beleive that these contractors were given these jobs for any other reason than the fact that they were contributors to the mayors campaign? And Do you think they would have given that money willingly without wanting something in return? Point is that we can't stop the money close to home, and its even tougher when they go to Washington and become faceless
politicians until re-election time comes around. Only a viable third party will be able to act as oversight of these career pols.

  • Whaler,

I've been wondering where you have been. Please check out the other blogs as well. We have been adding posts about once a week.

I copied your comments to www.Tony4Congress2006.com/blogs i'm sure Tony will share his thoughts.

Personally, I tend to agree with you. The big problem with your solution is, as you said, We have no viable third party.

Still, Tony is not part of the establishment. If he is able to raise the majority of his money from "we the people" it will help to further ensure his autonomy in Washington DC.

  • My question to whaler? What if the vast majority came from citizens, voters, your neighbors? Whom would I be beholden to then? Worth an answer, right?

  • I agree...Unfortunately most of the 3rd party people are a little nutty. Change must occur from within. On the Republican side I'm beginning to see many many conservative christians begin to evaluate why we vote the way we do. I have begun to vote only for people who I think will do the best job for the country. It's sad when it becomes the lesser of 2 evils. I hope guys like Tony will begin to make ripples and soon enough waves. The average American won't go 3rd party...in my opinion

  • That should read...I have begun to vote only for people who I think will do the best job for the country regardless of political party...sorry about that

  • Tony,
Sorry for the delay, but you answer the question of raising the money with a "what if". Well," what if" you can't? I don't doubt your honesty, or integrity. But we just had a "bi-partisan bill that was supposed to fix the problem of political money. (campaign finance) NcCain Feingold. What did that do? It made it worse and gave the politicians cover. They could say we did "something". The one thing that republicans and democrats agree on is their need of money, and they are not going to give that up. I Know REB and caltrask say that my solution is flawed, which makes me chuckle, but administration after administration whether republican or democrat has been corrupt. So going down that same road again when the perps are still entrenched in both partys is a no win situation for average Americans.

  • Whaler,

Tony responded to you on his blog.

"I don't disagree, whaler, but we must be bold in our vision to try and capture as much change as possible. I can't create any change from where I sit today. I need the help of all of you to help make that change, in District or out of District, everyone can help.

Debate Thad's Blog team...you are correct, they need to Blog first.

Just to throw this in: I attended a candidates forum today sponsored by the Grey Panthers of Metro Detroit (an amazingly passionate group of people). Thad was invited but I was told he turned it down because he hasn't filed yet and therefore isn't a candidate.

    Your thoughts?"
