Be Thankful for American Optimism

John F. Kennedy spoke of American optimism, and our ability to invent and solve great problems. For Americans to solve our current multifaceted sets of problems we must reclaim the 'can do' spirit JFK described.
"The American, by nature, is optimistic. He is experimental, an inventor and a builder who builds best when called upon to build greatly."

After writing the Kennedy quote I Google searched "American Optimism" and found the following Q & A with Dennis Kucinich. He is a man who speaks with conviction.

Q: What is your top priority for the nation?
A: "My priority would be a domestic agenda that would really be met. We're not asking the right questions. We just accept that war is inevitable, and that this fear that's over the country is something we're stuck with. My presidency would be about the end of fear and the beginning of hope — to try to regain that essential American optimism that really gives us that can-do attitude. We've lost a little bit of that since 9/11. I think I can help the country regain it."

Dirty Dozen Defeated

"We did it! Yesterday you helped us achieve major victories that set the stage for a safer, cleaner, smarter America.

At least eight of LCV's Dirty Dozen – anti-environmentalists in Congress that we worked tirelessly to defeat – went down. We are keeping a close watch on the three races that are currently undecided, especially in Virginia where George Allen is expected to lose. Additionally, eight out of nine of our Environmental Champions prevailed."

- Gene Karpinski, President, League of Conservation Voters

Should we call this the Al Gore effect? Or is it more like, 'ITS the ENVIRONMENT STUPID!' I believe American citizens are way out in front of their leaders on this issue. These election results prove it. And they should.

We all breath the same air, play in and drink the same water, and eat the same food. Who wants to leave the world worse than they found it? The Democrats have a mandate to make our world a better place. Too bad they have to clean up so many messes. Well, at least they will no longer have deal with the Dirty Dozen.

Why have we not heard this story in the mainstream media?

"Government can save your life, but it can take your life as well."

"It is helpful for the military to become less conservative than it has become." Check out this interview with former senator and governor of Nebraska and Vietnam Veteran Bob Kerrey at American Microphone

He declares it is time for America to cut and run from incompetence and corruption. This is the kind of intelligent leadership America needs. "The worst thing this president has done is to rebuke his father's policies."

"The war was inadvisable from the beginning."
