World of Warcraft hasn’t died. It’s a lifestyle game (a game that you play as part of how you live and interact with other groups of people). Blizzard continues to extend and evolve the game some fourteen years later. They’ve gotten very good at keeping players satisfied and enabling them to play together.
The latest update on the game’s official website doesn’t give much else away, but it does confirm Shadowlands’ PvP content will end on 21st February, after which it will “no longer be possible” to earn PvP seasonal rewards, titles, or rankings.
Without some serious efforts taken to right the course, we’re looking at a really hard crash for this game. It’s not going to shut down. But the days of its dominance might have already ended.
