All Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park are now open!
The magic has returned — Disneyland Resort is open! Both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park reopened April 30, 2021. Every day the parks return closer to normal, with more big entertainment and popular festivals returning in 2022, giving us even more to look forward to.
The Guest-favorite attraction Grizzly River Run was noted as an attraction that would remain closed on opening day. The ride had been completely drained since it closed for refurbishment in early 2020, and it was still drained on the opening day of A Touch of Disney.
2021 isn’t the time to take a once-in-a-lifetime Disney World vacation. AJ Wolfe of the Disney Food Blog says it’s best to save your money for a better future trip. Disney World is currently best suited for locals, annual pass holders, and frequent visitors.
The fan-favorite attraction, Splash Mountain, located in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World will temporarily close next year. According to the My Disney Experience app, Splash Mountain will close on January 10, 2022 for a month-long refurbishment. It is expected to reopen on February 11, 2022.

Grizzly River Run Reopens! With a little digging on the Disneyland website, we found that the whitewater raft ride is listed as Closed for Refurbishment. The final day we’re seeing it on the refurbishment schedule is May 6, 2021.
Grizzly River Run is Disney’s take on the classic whitewater raft ride, where you board a large, circular raft, and are then unleashed onto a water-filled course that will spin you and toss you around, usually resulting in a lot of water being splashed around. You WILL get wet.

In short, the answer is yes. If you end up without a method of payment other than your dolla dolla billz, you’ll be a-ok. Disney is definitely still accepting cash, but that doesn’t change the fact that contactless payment is heavily encouraged.
Disney Park Reservations – Another huge change is the Disney World Park Pass reservation system. Reservations are required for theme park admission, so make sure your entrance is booked well in advance. If you would rather wait until these safety restrictions have passed, then we suggest not going in August 2021.
With a large section of track still missing due to construction of TRON Lightcycle / Run, the closure of the Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom has been officially extended into early January 2022. The Walt Disney World Railroad initially closed in December 2018. Disney has not announced a reopening date.

Disney World is bringing back annual passes, just in time for its 50th anniversary celebration. For much of the pandemic, the theme park resort has been renewing passes for current owners – but not selling new ones.
Disney World suspended sales of annual passes last year when it closed its parks in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sales of new annual passes resumed in September of this year, along with the launch of a revamped passholder program.
Getting an annual pass for Walt Disney World is one of the biggest decisions a Disney traveler can face. You’re looking at roughly $1300 a year right off the bat, plus the cost of the vacations you’ll have to plan to get value out of the pass.
With Park Pass Reservations on peak days all booked up for the rest of November and December 2021, the sale of most new Annual Pass options is currently paused. All but the Disney Pixie Dust Pass are no longer being sold for the time being.
Updates at the Theme Parks The State of California strongly recommends that all Guests be fully vaccinated or receive a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the theme parks. Guests will not be required to show proof of vaccination, but vaccinated Guests must self-attest that they are in compliance prior to entry.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland is getting a brand new look, but it’ll be shut down for a year to get it done. According to Disney Parks, the attraction will be closed starting March 2022 for an “ambitious reimagining” project and is slated to reopen in early 2023.
