What is secondary service logon?

Secondary Logon service necessarily does not make the computer insecure. However, you can use Microsoft Security Essentials anti-virus Software to keep your computer safe from virus and other malicious threats. Since you are the only user it is not necessary to start this service.

A Win32-based service can run in the security context of a local user account, a domain user account, or the LocalSystem account. To decide which account to use, an administrator should install the service with the minimum set of permissions required to perform the service operations.

In the list of services select the service Print Spooler and open its properties. Select the startup mode (Automatic) and click Edit Security. Using the Add button, add a user account or a group to grant permissions to. In our case, Start, stop and pause permission is enough.

The RunAs service allows you to run an application as different user. You typically launch applications in this mode via the command line or shortcut. The “Run As” service does not allow you to run your application as a service – it is a built in Windows service (just to add to the confusion!).

Just click cmd without ‘Run as administrator’. If you hold SHIFT while right-clicking, you can select ‘Run as another user’, which allows you to use any user in your AD. Running as another user will not run the process elevated though, that will just run in another user’s context.
